Mascots
The Reds have FOUR(!!) mascots. The original mascot Mr. Red was first seen in 1955. A second mascot, Gapper, was introduced along with the opening of Great American Ballpark in 2003. (Fun fact – Gapper was created by the original Phillie Phanatic, the greatest Mascot in the MLB and ever). Mr. Redlegs was introduced in 2007 and then Rosie Red in 2008!
Ballpar[ker]
Our trip to Cincinnati was one of the most rushed, so unfortunately we didn’t get to spend too much time exploring (we literally drove up that morning from Detroit and started driving home right after the game). With the few hours we had to spare before the game we actually got to check out quite a bit right outside the stadium including the Hall of Fame right next door. There’s several restaurants right outside. When we were stuffed and ready for a nap (don’t judge us we just drove 5 hours!) it was nice to relax on these awesome swings with a view of Kentucky across the river.
